5 Favorites for Fall

There is a very real chill in the air here in MA today, it's a brisk 55 degrees. I have finally given in to wearing my flats again instead of sandals, a jacket instead of a crop top and scarves in place of my summer statement necklaces. I won't protest too much because fall clothing is some of my favorite clothing. Supple leather, cozy flannels, burnt orange, thick scarves to name a few. So below I have highlighted my 5 favorites for fall.

1) The perfect leather bag. Weather you are a student back for the semester, an office goddess or a busy Mom, nothing screams classic, sophisticated style like a brown leather bag in fall. Besides switching my flower pots to mums, nothing feels more quintessentially fall to me than a new leather bag. I recently purchased this gem from Dooney & Bourke, which made all my leather bag dreams come true.

2) A versatile go-to sweater. I like to keep a sweater at my desk at work and in my car for the fall months. In New England, you can wake up to a frost, have lunch in a tee shirt, and be back to frost by dinner. It always pays to be prepared. This LC by Lauren Conrad sweater is especially cozy, I love how long the sleeves are.

3) Red Nail Polish. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I get so ga-ga over spring nail colors, red almost doesn't exist. I'm a huge pink, blue and green nail fan so it's nice for me to re-discover how sexy, vampy and fall appropriate a red nail is. Even in winter I often reach for glitters and metallics over red. Whilst I have not purchased this particular polish, it is my newest fall must have and I can't stop drooling. Oh Christian Louboutin, thank you for creating an icon.

4) An all purpose Bootie. Ever since the fashion industry has dismissed the old "black and brown cant be worn together" faux pas, I have loved it. Especially in a shoe, especially when its a comfortable and stylish bootie. I love not having to mull over the question "black shoes with this blouse? Or brown shoes with this blouse?" I just wear these instead, and it is SO. PRACTICAL. By H&M.

5) Lovely Loungers. In the summer month's, I'm a nearly naked sleeper due to the fact I have no AC in my bedroom and refuse to not use a blanket. So by fall, I am absolutely delighted to get back into some soft, warm pajama pants. If you get the right ones, like these from Old Navy, you won't look like a homeless bum when you wear them to the grocery store. I mean, who doesn't wear pajama's the entirety of a fall Sunday!?

Thanks for stopping by Bestie's! Tell me if you relate to this list and what your fall faves are!

Ya'll like country?

Since the summer is *nearly* upon us, I decided it was time to pop some good ol' country in the CD player (don't hate). My friend Karen and I will be seeing this gentleman on July 11th, it'll be my 4th? time seeing Jason and I'm even more stoked for FL/GA line to open for him. Their album is so much fun and quickly became my summer go-to  in 2013. Seeing as the concert is in 3 months I decided it was time to get around to listening to Jasons latest album (I'm quite late to the party). Needless to say; I love it, quintessential Aldean. The song below is basically my life right now.

Spring Cleaning & Homespo

Hello Besties! I hope your Saturday was as gorgeous as ours in MA was! It was a lovely, sunny, 70 degrees and the perfect day for spring cleaning. I tidied up my bedroom, caught up on chores and even poked around my yard a bit. Opening the blinds and windows to let in the fresh sunlight really highlighted my favorite parts of my house. Below are some photos I took while I was cleaning as well as the links where I've drawn inspiration for my own home decor! Do you use Pinterest for homespo, Besties?

Good shopping karma & Faturday!

I love when payday finally rolls around and I can get back to doing what I love; SHOPPING! Saturday my friend Karen and I went up to the new Market street shops in Lynnfield. With spring weather finally here, it was a lovely day for a stroll and a shop. We hit up Express, Francesca's and Sephora. The two of us always have the best of luck when we shop together. Our last excursion was in Boston; Karen found the perfect Michael Kors bag and I found Butter London nail polish for cheap! So many good deals, so much excellent shopping karma :).  I picked up some marvelous goodies this time around as well, check out the pics below.

This is the DARLING new makeup bag I picked up at Francesca's. That store is overflowing with fun trinkets and cute gifts.

My blush obsession continues. I purchased a second blush from the Sephora Collection Colorful Blush in the color Healthy Rose. It is a matte rosey-coral color, the pigmentation is out of this world, a little goes a very long way.

Another cheeky Sephora purchase: Sephora Collection Color hit nail polish in Will You Jump? and Green Revolution. I'm wearing green revolution in all of the pics.

I also got an incredible deal at Express, 3 shirts for $41 bucks! They were all clearance priced and lowest ticketed price was another 40% off.....insane!
Tiny star print portofino shirt
Heart print portofino shirt
Rhinestone embellished hi-lo tee

To finish the day we had a fantastically delicious meal at Yardhouse. In honor of "Faturday" I got the mac and cheese which had bacon, mushrooms and chicken and was all around perfection. We also both ordered 1/2 yards of house honey beer, obviously.

Hope all of your weekends were as delightful as mine, Besties :)

Peter Pan & Loving my Sister

I am absolutely thrilled with this new treasure I have! I had looked high and low for weeks trying to find this Peter Pan plaque with no avail. Luckily I have the most thoughtful, generous, beautiful human being to call my sister. She surprised me with it at work last night, I nearly cried! We both have shared a love of Peter Pan for years, first it was the animated version, then Hook, then Peter Pan with that cutie Jeremy Sumpter. Oy, our family just loves us some PP. But aside from the plaque, I realized my sister has turned into an outstanding young woman. She is 22 now and not the little pain in the A she once was, she is so giving and incredibly kind to everyone around her. Lately, we haven't spent as much time with each other as I would like and I felt like we lost some of the connection we had when we were both home. I have a full time job and live in my own house, she works at a restaurant and lives with her boyfriend in another town. We were only seeing each other once a week, sometimes every other week; but I decided with all of the free time I had and the need for some extra cash, I would apply at her work. She got me right in the door and was by my side through all my training, helping me every chance she got, guiding me through the process. She was so gracious and professional, I couldn't believe my eyes. My little baby sister was an adult now, and this was her job and she is on her own! Maybe I was ignoring it before but it really hit me that she wasn't a baby anymore and the 5 years between us felt so much smaller. In two years working at this
"Think of the happiest things, It's the same as having wings"
restaurant she went from hostess, to waitress, to bartender and now has aspirations to become a manager. For years I have given her a hard time about going to school and finding direction and all the while she had been doing it right under my nose. My heart swelled every time a coworker praised her and complimented her, to say I was proud is too weak a word. I was over the moon for her and a bit ashamed of myself for thinking she was stalling in life. She has made a name for herself at this job, impressed all of her coworkers and more importantly her managers. I can't wait to see where she goes from here, she is so driven and focused and dedicated she could own the place by next year. I will forever be grateful she helped me out the way she has, I am so proud of her and so proud to call her my sister. She is always amazing me with how wonderful a person she is. I love you Hailey Anne!

Coupon Haul and Burlington Coat Haul!

Hello Besties! Welcome to my fist haul post! So before you go and judge me for shopping at Burlington Coat Factory, I have 2 things to say: 1) It's the only retail store in my town besides Bob's (worse) 2) You can find some real treasures in a trash heap if you look hard enough! I love to go after dinner on a random weeknight when I'm in a browsey mood and linger over all the trinkets. I've found several unique and fun items, Burlington Coat has never let me down.

First, I'd like to talk about my AMAZING coupon/CVS haul. I got all 6 of these items for $4.62!! The razor alone was $9.99 sale price! First purchase I had a $5 off $25, $3 off a $10 razor purchase and $5 off any venus razor purchase. I also used $10.50 ECB from a previous purchase and $3 off a $15 makeup purchase. Each of the mascaras were on sale for $7.99 each. The total after coupons was $3.12 and I got back a $2 ECB and $4 ECB for buying the makeup and razor. I then rolled my new bucks into the nail polish purchase, the first 2 cost $1.00 and got me another $3 ECB. The final nail polish cost me $.50 cents after using the $3 ECB!! I was so impressed with myself I just may do this once a week!

CVS coupon haul

I bought the Venus embrace razor with 2 cartridge refills and shower pod. 3 Sally Hansen Xtreme wear nail polishes in sun kissed, mellow yellow and breezy blue. L'Oreal voluminous butterfly mascara in blackest black and L'Oreal voluminous millionlashes excess in blackest black :)

Burlington Coat Factory haul

Now for Burlington Coat...I mean just look at that t-shirt! That mini journal! Those earrings! I just can't even with the adorableness of everything i bought. The mini journal is a darling tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time, and the best little mantra to remember. It has a lovely place on my bookshelf at the moment. The earrings were such a steal, 6 pairs for 5 bucks. The anchor pair were worth the five alone if you ask me! And the piece de resistance: A LION KING T-SHIRT! It was even on clearance, are you serious!? I am just over the moon for this tee, in fact I'm wearing it at this very moment. There's also a boring ol' pair of leggings but I'm a sucker for a deal and they were only $5.99!

That's it for now Besties, but I hope to have more hauls in the future! Perhaps when I open my new beauty products I'll do some reviews! Thanks for stopping in!
