There is a very real chill in the air here in MA today, it's a brisk 55 degrees. I have finally given in to wearing my flats again instead of sandals, a jacket instead of a crop top and scarves in place of my summer statement necklaces. I won't protest too much because fall clothing is some of my favorite clothing. Supple leather, cozy flannels, burnt orange, thick scarves to name a few. So below I have highlighted my 5 favorites for fall.
1) The perfect leather bag. Weather you are a student back for the semester, an office goddess or a busy Mom, nothing screams classic, sophisticated style like a brown leather bag in fall. Besides switching my flower pots to mums, nothing feels more quintessentially fall to me than a new leather bag. I recently purchased this gem from Dooney & Bourke, which made all my leather bag dreams come true.
2) A versatile go-to sweater. I like to keep a sweater at my desk at work and in my car for the fall months. In New England, you can wake up to a frost, have lunch in a tee shirt, and be back to frost by dinner. It always pays to be prepared. This LC by Lauren Conrad sweater is especially cozy, I love how long the sleeves are.
3) Red Nail Polish. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I get so ga-ga over spring nail colors, red almost doesn't exist. I'm a huge pink, blue and green nail fan so it's nice for me to re-discover how sexy, vampy and fall appropriate a red nail is. Even in winter I often reach for glitters and metallics over red. Whilst I have not purchased this particular polish, it is my newest fall must have and I can't stop drooling. Oh Christian Louboutin, thank you for creating an icon.
4) An all purpose Bootie. Ever since the fashion industry has dismissed the old "black and brown cant be worn together" faux pas, I have loved it. Especially in a shoe, especially when its a comfortable and stylish bootie. I love not having to mull over the question "black shoes with this blouse? Or brown shoes with this blouse?" I just wear these instead, and it is SO. PRACTICAL. By H&M.
5) Lovely Loungers. In the summer month's, I'm a nearly naked sleeper due to the fact I have no AC in my bedroom and refuse to not use a blanket. So by fall, I am absolutely delighted to get back into some soft, warm pajama pants. If you get the right ones, like these from Old Navy, you won't look like a homeless bum when you wear them to the grocery store. I mean, who doesn't wear pajama's the entirety of a fall Sunday!?
Thanks for stopping by Bestie's! Tell me if you relate to this list and what your fall faves are!
